Group 116.Pz.Windhund CCC Russia, Normandy, Belgium, Holland and Germany (VOSSENACK !

    Hi Guys !

I am happy to share this nice Group I picked up on last Monday by a german Friend, together with a big hug for him ! The two most interesting points for me are the 15 CC Days dispatched in 5 different Countries !!! My opinion is that we are not far to have a world record ! I have one with Russia, Italy and France..... but none with 5 countries. Here is the detail :
    1-5 : Russia, 6-10 : France, Normandy (Villebaudon, Montabot, Le Gast, La Hairie), 11 : Holland (Aamsche Brücke), 12 +13 : Belgium : Battice, Froidhier, 14 +15 : Würselen, Vossenack.
The second interesting detail is the IMO theater-made (front-made) Iron Cross document with dense lettering and thick Paper, probably due to a shortage of printed Material, the Stamp itself probably lost in Normandy, and the Signature from Oberst Richard Müller is probably quite scarce as he led the division only a few days...
    Feel free to comment !

14+15 (Würselen and Vossenack) are of course in Germany, the 5th Country. By the Way, my apologies for the heavy copyrighting, but well.... you all Guys know it goes today

        Amazing group, happy for you.

The EK II looks like an ersatz one done in the field with whatever paper they found.

Sample of the hard fights is that both times he received the EK the division was lead by an Oberst and not a proper General.

Uncommon and high desirable piece you show us here,

        Thanks a lot Lionel.

BY FAR the best group I have seen in YEARS!! Documented combat days near Aachen and in the Hürtgenwald, EK1 for Vossenack with evidence... can't get any better than that!

                Big congratulations!

This good appreciation from many important US and european collectors makes me happy, thank you ! I also got some photos with the Group, but as they are representing all SS-Guys, I don't think they really belonged to the Group. A Pity the "rest" of the SB seems have been lost. I will try to enter in touch with the Family, but well, it is now quite rare finding people still interested to help... A nice portrait with CCC would have been the cherry on the cake !!

This doc is signed by Leutnant d.R. Oscar Junge the Kompaniefuehrer of 7./156 at the time.

There is a great description of the fighting at Vossenack (including details of 7./156 on Nov.6) in Guderian's book.
