A Ek2 certificate of a lieutenant of the 16 Pz. Gren. Division signed in Russia by General Wilhelm Crisolli. It is a "Russian" certificate but Crisolli has a lot to do with the Wehrmacht in Italy, because it is the only German general killed by the partisans.

On 12 September 1944, as commander of the 20 Luftwaffe Felddivision (his division was in transfer from the front of Bologna to the Adriatic Gothic Line front (the first soldiers of the 20 LFD will arrive in Rimini on 16/17 September) the General moves to a car with a small escort from Pistoia to Bologna on the Apennine road "Campo Tizzoro (where the large ammunition factory of SMI was) Pracchia Porretta". The Partisans have the information that a small German column is moving on this road and they lurk on the bridge on the Rio Olivacci The first motorcycle was hit by the small group of partisans, and then from the group he leaves towards the general's car the Young partisan Ludovicoco Venturi who mortally hits General Crisolli in the head before being killed by the escort. The General will be transported immediately to the infirmary of the Ammunition Factory in Campo Tizzoro ( 2/3 km before), but dies here and shortly thereafter…..

the bridge where Crisolli was hit it isthe red triangle in this map of the road from Pistoia and Bologna

The ambush point is perfectly recognizable today, for the memorial stone that reminds the partisan Ludovico Venturi (the date engraved September 10 is wrong, the exact day of the attack and the death of General Crisoll and Venturi is precisely September 12, 1944)

Partisans of the Partisan Brigade "Bruno Buozzi", where he served Venturi.

And finally, the current tomb of Crisolli in the courtyard of honor of the great Futa German Cemetery (more than 30,000 fallen) is in the front row towards the crypt, not far from where he was killed ... ...

Here you have one more: Adolf-Friedrich Kuntzen (8. Panzer-Division) and Wilhelm Crisolli (Schützen-Regiment 8).

Yep, I got this photo. The two Generals with Crisolli are Erich Brandenberger and Erich von Manstein.
