does anyone know the history of this photo? It is a Nth African soldier captured in France May 1940 posing with SS, would this be considered a racist pose? regards graeme

small point Not a Nth African soldier. Central or Mid african Chad or Niger I would say.
It would of been a bit of a novllity for most German soildiers to see a person of colour so not really racist to say, bad taste and a modern war crime ("prisoners of war must at all times be protected, particularly against acts of violence or intimidation and against insults and public curiosity.")
If would be racist if you gave him a spear or a watermelon and grass-skit and took his picture
