A divisional or regimenal Insignia worn on the Cap... Which Unit ?

Hi Guys ! I already saw it before.... but I thought asking here would bring a quicker Answer than searching in my Files.... The original Photo is 9x6cm, so excuse the poor Quality ! Thanks ! Lionel.

    Hello Lionel !

I cannot identify the insignia, but there is a location : Planovskoye, ~ 5km N of Elkhotowo (Elchotowo),
~30 km E of Naltschik, Kaukasus area. If that area could come into question, the 13. Pz.Div. was in that area
late Sept. - mid Oct. 1942. (But there are hints on other units as well.)

I do not know, if it helps, best regards

    Archi

Thank you Uwe, that is already invaluable to have the Place so precisely identified.... I found suddenly what I had in my "Hinterkopf" since the very first time I saw this Snapshot... Is it totally stupid ??

Enzian-Division, other said, 4.G.J.D. Two docs from my collection thereafter.... I am not 100% convinced, to be honest,; even if this Division was involved in the Fighting in Kaukasus.....

              Hello Lionel !

Brandenburger was just what I had mind with the other units.
I had found a reference to a book of Leo Cavaleri on 2. Rgt. Brandenburg, mentioning Planowskoje :
              https://books.google.de/books?id=-4R...0terek&f=false

Perhaps someone has that book and can check ?
From memory, I think both 4. and 1. Geb.Div. were committed further West, but that needs to be checked of course.

              Best regards,

              Archi

. The more I stare at this cap Badge, the more I see the reversed "S" from the Brandenburger.... But perhaps I only see my Wish....

To me it looks like the Sonderverband Brandenburger badge.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.
