    Meaning of Vergleichsmitteilung

    Gents,
    Does anyone know the definition of Vergleichsmitteilung. Is it some sort of report that needs to be completed from various sources, such as an after action report? Or, am I off track?

    I found this juridical Definition in the www:

    "Die Vergleichsmitteilung ist der Abfindungsnachweis für alle beim Truppenteil gewährten Geld und Sachbezüge und sie ist grundsätzlich auszufüllen, wenn bei Abordnungen/ Kommandierungen und Versetzungen die Zuständigkeit der Bearbeitung von Reisekosten, Umzugskosten und Trennungsgeld bzw. der Wehrsoldzahlung wechselt.
    Man bekommt sie vorher von dem alten Truppenteil."

      Vergleichsmitteilung

      I saw this definition on a Bundesarchiv related forum. I.dont know about the difference between a 1941 definition and present day.
      To put it in perspective, a Fallschirmjäger lying injured in a hospital after Crete. His commanding officer tells him that one of his NCOs will visit to give him new kit and a Vergleichsmitteilung!
      I asked a Para vet about this a few weeks ago. He told me about the English translation - comparative message - which he reckons is a report from different sources and persons that needs to be put together.
      Your definition is similar to expenses owed to an individual. It's an odd one!

        Hello !

        Regarding your question, it might be helpful, if you could provide some context, where you came across this term.

        Without knowing that, I tried to search for this term and found many links, which always reveal that
        such a Vergleichsmitteilung was issued to a specific person/soldier and has informations on the service pay,
        rations given to him, etc...
        Therefore, the explanation given by Gerdan makes perfect sense, and I don't understand your : >>It's an odd one!<<

        Applied to your example, the NCO visiting the para in hospital, would hand him over such a Vergleichsmitteilung,
        so that his next unit knows, which payment etc... he had already received from his former unit, and which he still has to get.
