Can anyone explain the white color on these destroyed Panzerspähwagen Sd.Kfz.221's ???

hmmm it reminds me of ammunition/balistic tests made on captured/destroyed vehicles in WW1 and WW2...
Could it be possible that the 221's were painted before being moved by the Allied ? Maybe the Allied did had the time to move them finally...
221's were only used in the first years of WW2.
