          Great view!
Probably taken at the Party Rally in 1935, when only the central portion of the Zeppelin grandstand had been (more or less) completed.

            Hi,

the picture was taken on the last day of the Reichsparteitag 1935 on the Zeppelinfeld , Nürnberg, September 16, 1935 as for the "Day of the Wehrmacht" ("Tag der Wehrmacht").

Very cool. I saw the Scorpions in concert there in 1993.

                  Hi,

like Geoff said, only the main grandstand was completed for the Reichsparteitag 1935. In 1936 the arches around it were then completed. Below is a picture from the 1936 Reichsparteitag and the "Lichtdom".

not the exact same location, but a few hundred meters from there at the Frankenhalle.

Yeah, I know. But still part of the complex.

Perhaps it's just an observation made from the viewpoint of an aging collector, but where the heck are the restrooms at these BIG parties??? I can't be the only only who has wondered about that?

Every orgnization had its own large tent camp around Nürnberg. Shortly before the party the units gathered in front of the "Zeppelinfeld".

Ed, that's an excellent question that is rarely addressed. But Speer and the other designers/builders had it all covered. All those "flag towers" around the periphery of the field not only held lots of flag poles, that's where the toilets were. Most are very deteriorated today, but one or two of them still serve as toilets for when the field is used for US-style football. (One of the towers has a motorcycle club in it; I don't know if this one still has the toilets.) There were also toilets inside the grandstand itself, for the higher-ups who sat there. That is, there are toilet rooms in there today, and I think they are the original toilet facilities.
