Luftwaffe Pin... Need identification please

Hello all,
I recently acquired a group of documents and photos of a pilot. I came across and interesting pin attached to the man's uniform. Any ideas on what it might be? First thought JG 52 ish... but it looks a lot like 116 panzer (?)
