Frau Madchen W/ Bergmutze Checks Heer NCO

It looks as if the Frau Machen is checking the NCO's dogtags, the NCO has his eyes closed. Interesting to note that the Frau Machen wears a bergmutze, complete with Gebrigsjager insignia worn on the correct side of the cap.

The cap as you can see has a strip of material , covering the caps straps . The caps
top has been pushed up: The NCO wears an M43 cap , with a longer bill than the Bergmutze.

    Peter.

The photo is too old for reenactment, it's a war time photo.

LW M43 cap a bit too big for her !Hard to see if it's a special type for female or a men's pattern .
Classical Edelweiss position for LW caps , observed .
She's a LW Helferin in combat Flack uniform .

Girls usually were given bigger hats, to cover their volumenos hair.
Yes, Edelweiss is typical, have several pics showing it at Flakhelferinnen hats.

I'd say the cap wasn't issued to her and obv. doesnt fit and her 'helferinnen c.o. wouldn't permit it. it looks plain dorky. AND it isnt the type the maedel usually wore - which had a signal blitz not an e'weiss unless I'm mistaken. it's a man's hat and she found it somewhere - or maybe her uniform hat blew of in the wind some rainy night and she was given it.

              I'd say immediate postwar period.

seems she's wearing a british 'battle-dress' uniform jacket - the left upper sleeve insignia I'm guessing is the square patch that brits call a 'formation sign' i.e. a unit insignia. so she may be british army field nurse or admin or intelligence working to help or ID german POWs, sometimes called 'weeding out ss men'.

BUT maybe she's actually german - I donlt know blitzmaedel unis or insignia from a hole in the wall!

Picture looks wartime to me but I could be wrong. The Helferins uniform is correct. Nothing unusual there.

sometimes insults and rudeness invite a tart response. I was caught at a bad time, unfortunately. I apologize to the membership for the lapse in civility.

I'm just a first year Forum member and an admittedly inexperienced Collector trying to learn a new hobby after retiring, but from where I'm sitting up here in the cheap seats it looked like ValhallaMilitaria totally nailed it with his brief comment.
