    2 very interested photos by an crashed Westland Whirlwind

    hey collectors,

    i got these pics and wanted to share them with you.

    these are two pics from the very rare plane "Westland Whirlwind". Only 116 were buildt!

    this is the plane from Sgt. Alfred Brown, 137 Sqn. RAF. He died under unexplained circumstances

    He was shot down during the attack on a train near Doullens and was landed near Arras.

    This is not my collecting area but i find them very very interesting!

    Nice not many photos of those from the other side about.

    A plane, like many, was ahead of its time and doomed to a minor role because of poor engine design and perfomance.

    It is a great what-if question to ask if you put a brace of downsized Rolls-Royce Wellands on it with tricycle landing gear, what would of been the outcome.
