Information on Oil Painting of Luftwaffe Aircrew October 1940

Gentlemen

I am looking for information on this lovely 1971 dated oil painting by G Stephens of two Luftwaffe Officers being interviewed by a third.

Does anyone now what event it portrays, perhaps a picture in a Der Adler magazine, and can anyone make out the script written on the reverse by a German hand which appears to be dated 5th October 1940?

Just seen the painting on your website.....

I think its Hauptmann Kahra.

KAHRA, Karl Adolf. (DOB: 29.09.09 in Windheim). 11.04.42 Hptm., Staka 8./KG 40 KIA - Fw 200 C-3 (F8+HS) crashed on take-off from Rennes SE of the a/f in an apparent accident. Buried in Rennes or Mont de Huisnes.
