What is the best book for wehrpass ?

    Hello,

I woud like to have your opinion on a book.

For you, what is the best book between "wehrpass by Emilie Caldwell Stewart", and "the wehrpass and soldbuch of the wehrmacht by Antonio Scapini" ?

    Thank you!
    Best regards, David.

    Hello,

I only owe the one of Antonio, and it's very great. It includes the different soldbücher too.

Yes, Stewart is good but hard to find new. She had a small run of books, so you will have to look for used.

So, the book is good, but better than scapini?

          Best regards, David.

Scapini is hard cover and has color pictures and more recent.

I personally own Jungco's reference books on German documents.

              I can recommend them also!

I would suggest getting hold of both, as they both have positive points which the other does not.

'Wehrpass' by Emilie Caldwell Stewart, is older and soft-covered however it does provide a very good level of detail, although the examples of Wehrpass entries are photo-copied/zeroxed from original examples, thus not having the overal presentation of the below.

'The Wehrpass and Soldbuch of the Wehrmacht' by Antonio Scapini is hard-backed, colour and presented very well although, it does not have the detail of the above.

                Regards Richard.
Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.
