Hoping for opinions on an EK 2 award doc

    Hello !

I am hoping for opinions on this EK 2 doc, signed by Gen.Lt. von Tettau.

    1) Is everything original ?
    2) Is the signature handwritten (which it looks to me) ?
    3) Is it true, that Gen.Lt. von Tettau's signatures are typically stamped,
and that ink written signatures of him are harder to find ?

I would greatly appreciate any help !

    Thanks and best regards,

    Archi

    Hi my Friend.

Your Award Document is a perfect original in my humble opinion.
I confirm your informations : most von Tettau's signature are prints, especially during the Period he led the 24.I.D. 14.6.40-14.2.43). Example thereafter.

At the Date of your Award document, Kommandierende General from LIV A.K. was Gen.d.Kav. Erik Hansen. I can't sea anywhere that v.Tettau had an official Fonction there, but it will probably have it's explanation. As the Unit was probably an "Heerestruppe" temporarly under comman,d from the 24.I.D., the division perhaps received the Award Docs without signature, and v.Tettau signed "i.V." (in Vertretung). That's a suggestion, you will have, as I know you, a better one
Anyway, an Award document without red Flags IMO.

        Hello Lionel and Tom !

Many thanks for your comments and also for taking the time for the additional info !
Excellent! That was, what I was hoping for.
I had no doubts on the seller, but I thought it would be good, to have a second opinion.

Lionel, regarding why von Tettau signed and not the Korps-Kdr. Gen.d.Kav. Hansen,
I think your explanation makes total sense and I don't have a better one.

This interesting unit was indeed Heerestruppe, equipped with rare 21cm K39 (range ~35km !),
(later 15cm Kanonen) and in 1941 fought under AOK 6 and then since late Oct. 41 under AOK 11
and there mostly under LXVI. A.K., since Dec. 41 at the Northern Front of Sewastopol, just as
the 24. Inf.Div. So everything fits together nicely !

        Thanks again and best regards,

        Archi
