Nice shots of a searchlight battery. The listening device in the first photo i've read being called a ring-funnel direction hearer in English and was used to direct the searchlights.

Hi Doug, its a Ringtrichterrichtungshoerer (or RRH), ring horn acoustic direction detector. It had a range of 5 to 12km depending on the operators skill, weather conditions and target size. Later in the war they were replaced with radar.
