Hard to put a price on it.

Here's another wartime Sauer painting but it didn't sell for the estimated price of € 2.000:

To me it looks like the initial piece posted is a copy of the original as it definitely has a lot of differences to that of the postcard.
It is a very well done copy and obviously by a talented artist, but there are just too many differences.

The postcards are of course a copy of the original artwork, so it should look the same whereas this definitely does not.

            Hi
Copy??? I dont think so. I posted a few pics to a art gallery in Germany.
Also, i have exposed the drawing to a black light and is not fluo. My friend post somes pictures of the black light tests.
The drawing come from Alexander historical auction.
            Regards
            Benoit

              Hi,

some pictures of the UV tests, but to me the pics should be taken in a darker room.

              See You

                  Hi,

here is the original picture from the AA 60 auction, lot 365 (August 23, 2016).

                  http://auctions.alexautographs.com/a...refno=+++82866

The lot was sold as a "Color lithograph (print)".

That direct front on shot from the auction is much clearer Vince, thanks for posting!

There are still many subtle differences between this so-called original an that of the postcard, although over time the artwork may have received smudges from other things touching it etc...

Colour differences are negligible as that is common with reprints!

There are still some things that concern me, but the clearer image that Vince posted is definitely giving me a better feeling on this one.

Btw..... The Black Light test is in no way a 100% guarantee that it is original.

And if Alexander Historical Auctions cannot even get the artist correct on the listing, I wouldn't be putting blind faith in them.

                      Hi,

                      another picture.

In my opinion, this is not the original artwork, but a print, like the postcard.

                        Yes i see that.
But for 50.00 its a cool drawing for my war room.
                        Thanks all
                        Best regards
