Looks to be hand-signed. Wonder what caused the slight damage?

I imagine a storage issue. The cover vellum has it as well. Fortunately the signature is intact, and the calligraphy as well.

I agree: it appears to be hand-signed. And the leather presentation folder was designed by Frieda Thiersch, who was a skilled artist in her own right, producing works in leather. She was a sub-contractor who worked for Prof. Gerdy Troost of Troost Atelier. Congrats!
