    Italian Jet Plane?

Im thinking of buying a nice colour period magazine showing the italian ww2 airforce off ebay, one of the images shown is of italian officers around what looks like an italian ww2 jet plane?
Im sorry im not rely knowlegable about italian planes but did they develop their own jet plane program like the german ME262?

    All the Best.

The one in the picture has some similarities with the Heinkel design. Because of the long nose and small wind shield, taking off and landing must have been terrible with such little view of the runway.

        Hello
It's an Campini Caproni experimental jet fighter of 1940

          slow jet

It was a terrible slow jet! The Caproni "Campini" maximum speed was 600 km/h and he was 13.800 kg heavy. It was produced as an experimental aircraft in 1940. So if you take an Spitfire Mk I, who was made in 1939: max speed 570 km/h or an early mustang, wich was made in 1941 and could reach 705 km/h or a Mosquito: 1940 max 610 km/h, you see he was a sitting duck, waiting to be shot!
