Narvikschild in wear 2

On the two photos showing Dietl together with Gebirgsjäger, I noticed that some soldier wore the Narvikschild on a backing close of dark tissue.

Others on a backing close of feldgrau tissue and certain with no backing close. Has somebody an idea on the presence of this backing close of dark tissue ?

Thanks Polux for posting an enlarged view of the pilot's sleeve.

I also like the photo of General Meindl. I have a lovely portrait photograph of him that members of the Kammeradschaft Eugen Meindl gave me when my son was born. Unfortunately I don't have the means to post a picture pf the photograph on the forum.
