    AH picture- textile?

    Hi,

I would like to show you this AH picture. It seems to be made of textile. Did you see this before?

    All opinions welcome.

    Best regards
    Pavel

      Hi pavels,

      thanks for showing this item.
I believe these are quite rare to come across today, but are original.
Could you tell me the dimensions of this piece?
Some are postcard sized, but larger pieces are at times seen - this to me seems one of the larger items.

      best wishes,

      John.

        Hi John,

thanks for your reply. The size is 25 x 30 cm.

If I look closer its clear that the picture is not paper or photography, but is made from fine embroidered textile.

What about the mark RICO in the left corner?

        Any other opinions welcome.

        Best regards
        Pavel

I used to do screen printing on textiles years ago. This looks to be a half tone screen print on fabric. This is a very nice print job. Did they have this type of high quality half tone printing for textiles in Germany WW2? I don't know. They did have screen printing and it was used. I just don't know about the half tones. Just my 2 cents.

            Hi,

I dont think it is a print. I hink it is fine embroided, something like bevo insignia.

The technology seems to be identical like on my Konrad Henlein and Gablonz Rathaus textile bookmark. See the pictures.

            Best regards

Agree, it does look very similar. I guess one would have to take it out of the frame and examine the back.

                    Hi Pavel,

I think you are right by saying this item is a machine embroidered article.
I also collect WW1 "silk" postcards, and whilst most are of a different style to your item; I have three or four which stand out as detailed machine embroidered pieces and resemble your Hitler portrait exactly in manufacture -so the technology was in place from before 1915.
Look at bevo insignia for sport associations in Germany at the time, they are the same!

Good item Pavels, and many thanks for showing us.

                    Best wishes,

                    John.
