    Jon,
Jon, never tried that particular thing. I would think that where the glue has axctually attached to back of photo that it would destroy the photo if you tried to remove it. I know i have been afraid to try it on mine..

i know, the glue in those days was like wallpaper paste not like our pritt sticks today. I dont even know if i could use steam because of the photopaper. They are not like stamps so.. just hope some one has the idea Jon,

Hi Jon, to be honest I would not worry about it? After all it is on the reverse and is part of the history of the item. I would not mess with them and risk doing damage.

        Cheers, Ade.

Ade, Jon, I must say that there is sometimes one reason I also want to remove the black paper: sometimes there has been written a description on the back of the photo, and later on it was glued in the album. When the photo has been removed from the album, you can see that there is something written on the back but you can't read it because of the black paper.

                    Hi all

I have done the same with a razor blade and it works
pretty good. You just have to be carefull so you donĀ“t
                    damage the photo.

yes it works very good, but really before you try it yourself go and find some sugar paper and stick it on the back of a new photo and just get the practice on how to use scalpel/razor blade the the big tip of doing this is but the blade has to be on a flat angle to be able to remove the old sugar paper for the access photo. You must go no deeper in to the gloss of glue otherwise the glue is going to take the edge of the photo off and i am sure none of use want this. I found it was very good because i could read which was on the back of the photo and now i have some historic background to my pictures in my collection.

                      good luck

                      Jon.

the tip came to my mind because i seem to be making mistakes on tech drawings in my line of work as some tech drawings are done of tracing paper.
