    World War One French Award?

    Hello all,

I know this isn't exactly German WW2 but this was my great grandpa's document and I don't know what it is and cannot find anything online. It seems to be some sort of acknowledgement from France for fighting in World War 1 on part of France. No one is alive in my family to give me any info. Any help would be great. Again sorry in advance for it not being "German World War 2" but I don't know where else to turn! Thanks!! Dave C

        Hi,

this paper was given by the French ministry for the war veterans between 1986 and 1988.

At the time the minister was Georges Fontès :

        https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_Font%C3%A8s

Secrétaire d'État aux Anciens Combattants du 20 mars 1986 au 10 mai 1988 (ministre)

A similar paper is available here :

        https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/f...&GRid=43389388

I may suggest that you contact Nancy Poppin Umland, who seemed to have added the paper for Mr. Posey on the website in 2012.
She may know more about this paper.

In my opinion this paper was maybe given to families who went to France to commemorate the end of WWI in 1988 ?
