Not exactly sure what this is. Its on the same thick paper that awards are printed on. Its not part of a book. Its basically the justification used to recommend Wach. Braune for the EKII. I don't recall seeing something like this before. Any comments are appreciated. Jim

Hi Jim,
I've seen such a commendation neither in this form. More often the reason for the award is sometimes written on the backside of the award document itself
Here we have a real early award for the poland campaign in wich Braune got his IC, probably after he was killed. I guess it was just done in this unit and given to his widow or relatives.
Did you have the award doc too?
regards Walle

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately all I have is this certificate. Regards Jim

I checked out your website, very nice. The fact that it focuses on the EK makes your comment even that more relevant (not that Walles Isn't). With all the collectors out there surely someone has seen a similar document. I got this over 20 years ago from a friend in Germany. He said it was unusually even back then. Maybe it was only adopted by this particular unit. It certainly lets the family know what their loved one did do get the award. Jim
