Hi John, Id rather not say his name sorry, but I have been lucky enough to have been in contact with him consistently for a while now ....and it has been very rewarding experience for me.
Here he is before/around the time of the 1st Battle of El Alamein with Pz Rgt 5. Already made it through Gazala. He was gunner in this Pz III, which was ambushed and KO'd by the 9th Australian Div's anti-tank guns from about 50 meters away. Was pulled from the wreck by his comrades and hospitalized. After, he was transferred to a Pz-Abteilung and fought to the end of the war!

Not to shabby yourself Bill, thanks for posting these candid photos of your friend who had quite a military career from the sound of it! I for one would love to see any other photos you have of him and hear of any more first hand accounts/stories of his service!

on a side note congrats on your new website and I hope it keeps you busy doing what you do so very well!

Nice shot Bill. Any indication of name or unit? The officer looks vaguely familiar.
