the only name is on a house
it should be Dutch. there in the nordic countries oo not usually.
The Name on the house : Ockenoord
have no number on the Speedboot , only photo no dokuments.
All have - Speedboat badge /Ek 2 + 1+ more ?

Hi ,

I can only say that I have photos of the same building in a photo-album from a 6.th Schnellboot-Flottille, S-Boot CO.
The men on your photo are with their face to the entrance of the cemetary.
Sorry but I too don't know the placename at the moment, but it should be somewere in the Netherlands.

you are right.

I did sent the info I found to Hans/Bootmanager, but will also put some information here.

Yes it must be near the former dutch military-airfield Ockenburg and the Sports-park Ockenburg, The Hague, The Netherlands.

During WW2, about 570 germans were buried there.

Now known as Algemene Gemeentelijke Begraafplaats Westduin.

After the war the germans were reburied at the new german military- cemetery at Ysselsteyn, municipality Venray.

Hi Hans,

Thanks for the extra photos.

About the place-name Haarlem you mentioned.

Nolte was a S-Boot CO in the 6th S-Flottille.

In his album it says: "Offiziersheim Haus Belvedere in Overveen bei Haarlem - unser Flottillenstutzpunkt"

All the photos in the three albums are glued-in but I was able to read the text: "Helden Friedhof in Den Haag"
So for sure the cemetery on the photos is in The Hague.

Do you know what period your photos are taken.?
Looking at your photos, as far as I am able to see it from them (as it are only parts of the photos), the E-boat on your pics is an early type.
Nolte wrote in his album that he was stationed in Haarlem for 1943-1944.
So when your man was there in the same period he could be from the 6th S-Flottille too.

Hi Guys.

I can confirm that Ockenoord was a house next to the Cemetery Westduin (Algemene Gemeentelijke Begraafplaats Westduin). The house was of a forester in this area.

Are there more pictures of Westduin ?
And can someone place the photos again wich are not viewable anymore ?
