    Big Group of a Gebirgsjäger

    Hello guys!

    Would like to Show you this big Group from a gebirgsjäger.
    He was awarded with:

    Infantery assault Badge

    Ek1

    Ek2

    Close Combat clasp Bronze

    Wound Badge Black

    Wound Badge Silver

    Kvk 2 class

    East medal


    Also his ID is in the convolut .. all Badges in Nice condition..

            Great group! Never mind the docs are somewhat worn....means they have the "been there/done that" look. And with the medals still on hand. A very complete and moving grouping.

                      That is a nice Lappland group, even if the Lappland shield award is missing, which might indicate he hadn't returned to his unit after being wounded in september.

                      Gebirgsjäger Btl. Allgäu was originally Gebirgs Träger Btl. 56 which had been converted to an infantry unit in late 1944. My guess is that a number of combat experienced officers and NCOs were transferred from other units within 20 Geb.Armee in order to provide training and experience.

                      Incidently the KVK is signed by oakleaves winner Emil Vogel.
                      Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
