....(67) Retired Oberfeldwebel, born on 5 Jan. 1945 in Soldau has only recently received the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross that was awarded to him near the end of world war 2. The group Bonn der LO??? were also at the award ceremony.
Strojek was awarded the Knights Cross after he had already received several other bravery awards. He was recommended for the KC for further brave deeds but due to a wound and circumstances at the end of the war an award was not possible.
After many years of negotiations with the USA the documentation could at last be returned and 1981 the reference book "Ritterkreuzträger" was reworked and completed. This book was read by an acquaintance of the 1944 promoted to Oberfeldwebel Strojek. The evidence............
