WWII Soldier with WWI Wound Badge

The Obergefreiter in this photo is clearly too young to have been a WWI veteran. He appears to be a Pioneer troop.

Note the WWI Silver Wound badge he is wearing. Perhaps he was awarded a Silver Wound badge and chose to wear a WWI example that was originally awarded to his father or to an uncle in WWI.

Maybe not available a WW II model and this was given to him or it was the only one the photographer had, not the first time we see an strange combo in a photo studio.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.
