I wouldn't buy that, I can't say for sure it is a fake, but the flow of the signature seems a bit slow and there is quite a bit of variation in it that I don't see in good examples. Look at the examples in Hamilton book, look at examples in document online. Look at the variations. Plus its a picture, the forger gets lots of practice. If that was in my collection there would be a big question mark, as in, It could be signed by him but there is some doubt. For that reason, I'd pass.

Flow a bit slow...??? What on earth do you mean? You obviously are not familiar with Heß signatures.....it is without doubt correct.

Actually I own a Hess signed document and many other personalities of the 3rd Reich. You trying to argue? I've laid out why I thought it was questionable, if you are so certain it is real pull up a Hess example and do a side by side comparison. Lets see your so called "expertise" at work here.

          Fine, I will play.

First lets establish that Hess signed stuff is very rare, especially photos, and forgers love to target photos. 500 quid for this would be a steal (if that was the price). So right away there should be some suspicion for anyone who knows even a little bit about this business.

Now here is the best good example I could find that closely matches the example of the signed photo (so I am giving the benefit of the doubt to the people who say it is good).

Look how much is WRONG! In the signed photo the letters after the "R" are bunched up, and the "R" itself is formed totally different. In the real Hess the signature slopes down, on the photo it slopes up. Shall I continue? There is quite a bit more.

At BEST the autograph in question is suspicious.

So please praubal, lets get your "expert" opinion on this. Where have I gone wrong?

They will look good together but be careful with plastic wallets...they can cause trouble.

Yes, Kahle33, a useful post for this thread..... thanks.

Yes, it was sold for 500 pounds.

I wouldn't have bought it myself as I think it is a poor example based on my own comparison of other material, and how any collector can randomly say it is 100% authentic is beyond me, irrespective of the plastic wallet it's kept in.
