the hint is this photo taken in Bologna end of 1944 between the old and the new
SS-Gruppenführer commander of the 16 RF SS: Max Simon passes to Otto Baum,
and two certificates with their signatures

for Max Simon a Ost Medal certificate , very posthumously much (more than two years after Russia) already posted, of a "lent" soldier from SS Panzer Grenadier Lehr Regiment to the 16 RF SS

the second certificate, with Otto baum signature, it is full contextualized ... a EK of a Sturmmann of the SS.Panzer Greandier Regiment 36 dated January 25th, 1945, then on the river Senio, exactly between alfonsine eand Fusignano before the leaving for Hungary of the 16 RF SS.........

The 16 RF SS 16 from December 1944 to January 1945 is deployed in defenso of one of the most difficult points of the winter line on Senio river ....

the focal point of the 16 RF SS defence is the village of Rosetta ..... a map of 16 RFSS above, and below one of the Battglione Lupo of X MAS integrated at that time in the 16 RF SS Division

unfortunately our young Sturmmann Rudolf, falls right there four days before the surrenders of the remains of the 16 RF SS to the British between Klagenfurt and Villach (8 May 1945)
