          Signature

I think Akira should be able to identify this quite fast. A list of Generals der Panzertruppe in the end of 1941 should be of help, perhaps Akira also can be of help.

            Hi!

Panzer Reg. 3 was indeed part of 2. Pz. Div. in 1941. The Div. commander at the time was Generalleutnant Rudolf Veiel. Whoever drew up this "document" didn't do his homework!

              Veiel

              Hi VjK,

Indeed, and in 1942 Veiel was General der Panzertruppe. Isn't it possible that the army to which the second panzer division was attached in that time - feb 1941(Balkan), had a General der Panzertruppe that signed this document?

                Hi Jeroen!

As of 22.02.1941, there were only 8 Generale der Panzertruppe:-

Ernst Fessmann: Kdr. 267 ID, XXIII AK, 16. Army, France
Leo Freiherr Geyr von Schweppenburg: Kom. Gen. XXIV AK, 2. Army, Germany
Joachim Lemelsen: Kom. Gen. XXXXVII AK, Germany
                Oswald Lutz: Retired
Hans-Georg Reinhardt: Kom. Gen. XXXXI AK, 1. Army, France
Rudolf Schmidt: XXXIX (mot.) AK, 7. Army, France
Georg Stumme: Kom. Gen. XXXX AK, 12. Army, Rumania
Heinrich von Vietinghoff: Kom. Gen. XXXXVI AK, 11. Army, Germany

On the given date, the 2. Pz.Div. was part of the 17. Army and in reserve in Poland. I just can't find the remotest alternative. The signature clearly says Fehn, but I cannot say whether it resembles his actual signature. I fear that the document is a not too plausible fake.

                Regards,

                VJK

                    Fehn

                    Hello Tho791,

Do you have a scan with the signature of Fehn so we can compare?

                    Thanks,

                    Jeroen

                      research

                      Hi VJK,

                      Nice research .

Indeed the only thing left is to compare the signature of Fehn. Then we know for sure.
