It's a requirement for a student pilot to fly from point A to point B thru (or over) specific towns or cities. Sort of a part of a modern-day flight planning package, so to speak.
HankUnless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

Formed 1.4.39 in Ingolstadt from Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung 33 (Planned move to Darmstadt was cancelled). In 1941 stationed at Wormditt, East Prussia. In 1942 moved outside Germany (to East?), and was renamed Flieger-Regiment 33. In 1942 disbanded, and used to form one of the Luftwaffen-Feld-Divisions.
