Hello forum members, has anyone an idea who this might be?
Must be a major, maybe a later Knights Cross recipient?

In the photo it looks like he's wearing an Infantry Captain's shoulder boards, though the handwriting appears to indicate "Major."

Johann appears to be part of his name but it is mostly illegible. He didn't have much taste in visor hats from what I see.

Do you have any information linking him as having been awarded the RK? Without that what you do have is a studio portrait of a typical looking older age group Hauptmann with previous WWI service recalled to active duty in the Heer. He looks slightly like Kietel. Nice photo.
