    Füsilier regiment großdeutschland signature

    Hello,

Is there anybody who could help me to determinate the name of the guy who sign this document?
I tried, but no answer for now...

    Thanks.

I have not my GD-Books right now.... At first glance, I read "BEUERMANN". An Oberstleutnant Wilhelm Beuermann won the german Cross on 4.2.44 by the Pz.Gren.Rgt.394. Just my two cents without the appropriate Books.... Lionel.

That is indeed Beuermann who seems to of signed quite a few GD IAB citations in March 1943. Unfortunately I have never been able to confirm his forename.

Doesn't the I.V. under the date mean "on behalf of?"

Yes it does. I have him listed in my GD database but unfortunately due to him always signing as 'i.v.' I've not been able to place him to a particular appointment.

In "Rangliste des deutschen Heeres 1944/45", the name "B" is cited twice :

              page 118 : Beuermann, promoted Obstlt 1.12.43 (RDA 2) "b.Ausb.Leiter Cottbus"

As Cottbus was also the Ersatz-Btl.GD, there is perhaps a connexion.

              page 82 : Beurmann, pormoted Oberst 1.1.44 (RDA 30b) "Pz.A.A.5"

I did think that when I found his card file but if his date for promotion to Oberstleutnant is in December 1943 then it won't be him as the citation is dated March 1943 and he is noted as that rank on it. This is his card file:

Having done some digging through my files today I can confirm that the signature above does indeed belong to Wilhelm Beuermann (Born 5th Feb 1896) who at the time of the signature was serving in Führerreserve H.Gruppe Süd z.V. Rgt-Führer/Führerreserve OKH. I have found a card file in NARA T-78 Roll-941 that while it doesn't mention any specific listing to GD it does contain a comment from Oberstleutnant Oldwig von Natzmer and dated for April 1943 - and von Natzmer was GD's Ia.

Very nice and impressive research! So that's the good guy, this Wilhelm Beuermann. And he's MIA in 21st of July 1944 for what I can see below.
                      Thanks mate!

Very nice document for a desirable unit.
To know who signed it is also a nice update !
