Cruiser Prinz Eugen album opinions please

What do you guys think about this album ? I know its a hard question but can anyone give me a ballpark value on this one ?

I forgot to add, the album consists of 76 pictures

Lovely album one could date some photos to the day.

There must of been a official visit of some Italian ship as it is flying courtesy flag.

All are very early war I would guess shortly after commissioning

Can't say anything about the originality of the photos as I don't know enough about that side of collecting but it would appear that quite a few of them are commonly seen (such as the ones relating to Bismarck and their sortie in to the Atlantic - Post #4) and are probably taken from official newsreels and printed as photos for sailors to buy.

Can you tell if the photos are original and not post war?

I dont know, thats where I am interested in myself if its postwar or wartime pictures. If anyone can help with that, it is greatly appreciated

Gentlemen,

That's the first time that I seen a picture of a Italian naval admiral aboard the Prinz Eugen shaking hands with the ship's officers. There was a German Kriegsmarine officer beside the Italian admiral wearing some kind of high Italian neck order in that picture.

The Italian Navy had a cruiser named 'Eugenio di Savoia' which was named after Prince Eugen of Savoy - as was Prinz Eugen, so maybe it is some kind of good will visit from the Italian Admiral who has flown in to strengthen ties between the two Navies.

Just a general comment. KM ships albums often consist of a high proportion of 'ships photographer' photos as this one does so don't expect many of the photos to be unique never seen before.
