    German Wedding Photo Project

My kids all have a keen interest in history (especially WWII) and collecting and have recently started focusing on WWII photos. My son and I recently started putting together some German wedding photos form WWII in an antique photo album that I picked up awhile back. It's been fun and is cool to see how they have taken such a liking to history. Here's a link to part of the photo album that we've put together so far. Click here.

Good stuff. Its good to see younger folk having an interest in history.

Got a few more in today that we added to the album. It's turned out to be a fun little project. If anybody has some wedding photos that they'd like to offload for a reasonable price, shoot me a PM.

        Congrats in two ways

Congrats on trying to get your kids into 'the histories' we all love here on WAF.
And...congrats on having kids that are receptive. I know from personal experience that not all kids will be receptive to ANY 'histories' no matter what the parental units or educational instructors do.

Thanks! I feel very fortunate. It's funny. Any time that they get money for their birthday or Christmas, they don't want to go buy toys. They want to go to an antique shop or have me show them what's available on eBay or here on the e-stand.

Great Idea, collecting with your Son. This thematic is not that expensive, and will develop his Feeling for History, searching everywhere and have the pleasure to add a new "gem" to his collection. That makes sense, congrats ! Just for his Pleasure, I really have a lot in my photo collection, this one one of my preffered, you will guess why ;-) The Guy writes on the back he saved this Picture of its Wedding through the russian Captivity !

Oh wow! Very cool. And yes, you're right. The portraits and wedding photos are an inexpensive thing for them to collect and they get excited about it when they find something cool. My son is still holding out to find an SS portrait photo for $5, but I told him that he might have a better chance trying to catch a unicorn

The wedding photos always have interested me. I bought my first one while I was taking a class on human behavior. The looks you see on many photos of the bride show that fear in her face that every military spouse knows, will they ever come home again. I have a collection now of several hundred wedding and portrait photos, even getting into Japanese ones you still see that look of trepidation.
