THIS IS MY GRANDFATHER!!! His name is Hans Märtl and he was born on December 25th 1919 in a small Bavarian town called Laaber. He joined the Luftwaffe after his military service because WWII had begun. He had never been shot down and thus had been a very popular pilot. He surrendered to the Americans shortly after War ended, had been a war prisoner for a short time and was then released because he could prove that je had never been a Nazi. He had always been strongly anti Hitler as he was raised in a Christian home.
