    5x Panzerknacker...Georg Comes Home

Sold this group in 2011, but thanks to my friend PB, Georg has now come "home" again. I am only collecting documents related to the fighting against the Allies, the "Italian Campaign" and "Western Front '44-'45", so this group fits my collection perfectly.

Nietert's story is well-known - from company baker to 5x Panzerknacker. He destroyed his first Sherman tank in Nov.'44 and then on a single day in Jan.'45 he is credited with destroying 3 Shermans and 1 MG carrier with his Panzershreck, while disabling two additional Shermans.

    Enjoy,
    John

            Hi Vince,

Here is featured in an issue of Der Landser and also there is a section in the book on TDB's titled Bullseye.

            Regards,
            John

Not a "document guy", John [as you already know] - but that's really cool! Good for you!

The group has more - EK docs, IAB doc, etc. it only has one TDB doc for Nov '44 though.

                            Best,
                            John
