Stahlhelmbund photo, what's going on here?

Something is puzzling me about the photo shown above which i recently received.
The photo itself is a bit larger than i am used to see, 10x15cm, while the image is the normal size 9x14cm. Is it just not properly cut?

Now comes the odd part, to me the belt buckle seems censored but not on the photo but during the developing of the photo,
or could it be that this is a photo of a censored photo? In other words, is this a fake?

The back is blanc and the photo does not light up with a uv-lamp

It looks like the light reflecting on the round central piece of the buckle.

I agree with Chris: Stahlhelmbund buckles were silver-colored and it appears that this photo was taken in a professional studio where bright lights were used -- the subject seems to be wearing goggles on his cap, which also show light reflection.
