    Political prisoner ID's

this weekend I found the following ID's and post to a political prisoner who was in 7th Army Internee Camp 3 in Kornwestheim then No. 75 Kornwestheim and CIE 91 in Darmstadt. These prisoners were mostly political (SS, SD, Gestap, Party) and this man appears to be one of them. The postcard to notify his address in Darmstadt is dated 1 November, 1946. Unfortunately this is all that I found on the man.

Jim....they had separate camps for Political...mostly civilian prisoners being held/interned and investigated for their part in the National Socialist era before being prosecuted or de-Nazified and released. I had posted a photo of such a camp some time back under my POW thread. How's Retirement going??

Bill, I picked these up at Bad Dürkheim and retirement is going fine! You had to do something to stay in as a civilian for almost a year and a half after the wars end.

Hey Jim....still keeping your hands in the hobby I see. Bad Durkheim was always good to find interesting items. Does the Schlusselmeister still set up at Bad Durkheim? I can envision at least 20 collectors still showing up so you have to be fast...especially when it is freezing cold and most of us wind up over at the coffee stand. I gather you and <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <wontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]-->Karolyn travel much more these days.

In reference to the Internierungs docs..here is a website that has information on where they were located.

Have a rather large soft cover book with 74 pages published by internees at Camp 71 Ludwigburg which apparently was one of the largest of all the camps.
