Does anyone know anything about od43.com?

Hello All! I'm new to this forum and I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about od43.com. I was looking at some period paper on this website for sale but I've never heard about this site until now. I'm interested in purchasing from them but I wanted to pass it by you guys first. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you.

I also collect paper items and I have purchased a few items a couple of years ago. I recall the transactions went smoothly.

      Hi,

i strongly advice you to use OD43 and usmbooks as reference websites in which you may get infos on some publications that you may be interested in, then to search the web to find the same booklets for 3 to 6 times cheaper...
Those websites are making their business on being highly referenced on Google so people will end on one of their product pages.

Some common books in Germany "rare books" websites are far far cheaper (abebooks, booklooker, zvab etc).

I will add that most of their listed products is listed for sale, even when they were printed to millions of copies and are easily available elsewhere.
Same about Tausend, Auflage and variants, most of the time their infofile is missing infos that are usually listed in other "rare books" websites.

      See You

I bought a hard to get issue of 'Die Kunst im Dritten Reich' from him a couple of years ago...the transaction was all done on a personal level ie. no shopping cart and it went very smoothly. He was very helpful and courteous and the item was well packaged for its journey across the pond.
I was initially wary due to his website's similarity to another dealer in TR paper (USM Books??? or something), but apparently there is no connection between the two.

...and to add, I would normally look to the sites mentioned by Vince above, but in this particular case it worked out less expensive to go down the OD43 route.

            Hi,

            small typo by me :

"I will add that most of their listed products is listed as ultra rare" when infact those are books printed to millions of copies.

            See You

PS : sometimes it may be better to "wait" a few months to get your stuff cheaper elsewhere, but if you need for any project something very quickly, then it may be one of the solutions. But check before on the various other websites, some sellers are in the US.

Thank you all for your informative replies! John, I felt the same way in regards to how the website formate was eerily the same as USM Books! Apparently though, the German police magazines that I was interested in have been sold already! I will check out the other sites mentioned (thanks Frenchvolunteer) These "Die Deutsche Polizei" magazines are very hard to come by and there other police books I've never even seen before.

Andreas is a nice guy, but his signed paper documents were garbage. All forgeries. I don't think he knew. I think he was getting duped by someone. I think he got clued into it at a certain point and He slowly started removing them off the site and I think he doesn't sell them anymore. I can't speak to his other stuff since I don't know much about it.

I believe you are absolutely correct and this is another prime example of a general militaria dealer not having any expertise in specialist autograph material.

USMBooks is a first class operation. I purchased a beaded Luftschutz helmet from them. I was Searching for a copy of Deutschland Erwache, the ultimate collector's reference book about the DE standard. On a whim, I e-mailed USMBooks, and they were kind enough to locate someone willing to sell their copy. USMBooks got nothing out of it, it was just a kindness extended to a fellow collector of Third Reich memorabilia and reference books. OD43 is also a friendly company. I inquired about a photo they had, and I requested information as to the origin of the photo. They e-mailed me back with a photo attachment. I am struck as to how kind and helpful people are who deal in militaria.

USM books is extremely knowledgeable- and their items, and packaging, are really the best you will see. I was stunned by their professionalism, and they are humble about it. In short, they know their stuff, and are reliable. A great trait for interested collectors. Just my opinion. I would buy from them again. They have rare things you don’t find elsewhere. Just IMO, It has been a couple of years since I dealt with them - but I wish more dealers were as professional as USM.
