What War Badge is Matrose Freund Wearing

I bought this photo on first glance, fairly certain that Matrose Hermann Freund was wearing a Hilfskreuzer badge on his wedding day to his bride Felicidas.

However, when I received the photo, I can't be sure at all! Either the flash of the photography created a bizzare reflection/image or Hermann is wearing a badge I have never seen.

Your thoughts and opinions--Please!

I would say he is wearing the High Seas Fleet Badge.

Larry: the superimposed HSF badge over the form of Matrose Freund's badge makes it pretty clear--this is probably a HSF badge in wear. Either way this photograph won't be going into my Hilfskreuzer Archiv. Thanks for the assist!
