Funny photo - Heer RKT Friedrich Doermann

Hi,

I would like to share this photo of Heer RKT Friedrich Doermann
whose wartime album I have . Here he is in a very "relaxed" mood haha!
I think that is Generalleutnant Ralph Graf von Oriola on the right
which explains the "oh ****" expression on Friedrich's face.... It
is one of the last photos in the album and must have been taken shortly
before he was captured by the Red Army during Operation "Bagration". A
great candid photo of an RKT unlike any you will see in "Signal"...

Hi Nick,
Yes he did survive Soviet captivity minus his gold ring, wristwatch etc..., as you know, losing such personal belongings was quite commonplace for German POW'S. Luckily Doermann must have sent his photos back home regularly as I have his photo album - one of the jewels in my collection.
