White lapels on the black Allgemeine-SS greatcoat was regulation wear for the ranks of SS-Oberführer and above, but many officers (including Heydrich) also wore greatcoats without the white lapels. The leather greatcoat could also be worn with white lapels, as by Himmler in this photo. White leather lapels usually appeared to be grey in colour on most b&w photos. The field grey greatcoat worn by SS-Oberführer and above, was also usually with white lapels, but not always. It's misleading to say Heydrich always wore the black coat with white lapels.
