I found this unique version of a Police 25yr service award document for sale online (only one of this version I've ever seen with a large eagle on top), and the document itself looks to be authentic, but why would a SS-Sturmbahnführer assigned to an SS-Panzer Jäger Abteilung be awarded a Police 25yr service award (award date is 3 Dec 43) unless it was for a previous career he had with the police? Then again, the youngest the man could have been to have a 25yr career in the police would have been 43 which seems quite old to be transferring into a physically challenging Panzer Jäger job. Any chance? Just wondering, Chris

Seeing more of the document would help, me thinks. (I'm not knowledgeable of SS unit designations, but I'm not sure I like the way this one is spelled out....)
Also, I know that war years counted as "more" years, when awarding service time medals. I've seen a number of 25 year documents followed a year or two later with 40 year service. So he wouldn't necessarily have to be 43. He wouldn't be 18 or 19, but maybe mid/late 30's, as a guess.
