I posted this in the Luft Badges section a few years ago but got no response. Maybe someone knows a bit more here...
EHRENSCHILD DES LUFTGAU XI
In searching around the web and a few books, I can't seem to find much information on the criteria of this award. My guess is that it could be awarded to both military and civilian personnel; primarily due to air defense throughout the Luftgau but particularly in Hamburg. Does anyone have any info on this? It seems that the majority of military recipients would have been flak personnel and that the civilians would have been associated with Luftshutz service. Is there a sense as to what level of service one had to provide - was it continual or could it be awarded for a significant act (and possibly accompany another award)?
I'm curious if the criteria was similar for the majority of Ehrenshilds instituted during the war.
