    Rommel, Himmler, Hess Signatures

I have been offered a collection and it has autographs of 3 prominent figures. Rommel, Himmler, and Hess. I realize that the photos are not that good, but can anyone provide input on the authenticity? Rommel comes with a "certificate" from RR Auctions. The other 2 do not. Opinions? Also, what would be a fair price to pay?
    Regards, Hayden

          Hi Burkhard45,

As FrankandFrank phrased it, "better scans will be good!" But from what I see now, the Hess piece does not appear to be a likeness of his signature; the Himmler piece appears to be on a printed document or flier; and the Rommel piece appears to be a rubber-stamping added to a carbon copy of a document for filing purposes...from both obverse and reverse.

Clearer, larger copies might change my opinion of these pieces, but as I see them now, I would not consider buying or bidding on any of them. A Certificate of Authenticity is good to have, but it must adequately describe the piece it purports to authenticate. If the piece appears to be a printing or a stamping, the only thing a CofA will do is to call into question the qualifications of the authenticator(s).

          Just my opinion, of course!

This is getting painful! Come on guys - the first is not stamped. It is a crayon signature. It does, however, have the appearance of one of the many well known Rommel forgeries. Without physical examination, authentication is difficult, so the jury is still out on this one.
            The Himmler is obviously printed.
The last is obviously not the signature of Hess, but has the appearance of the autograph of Hermann Esser. The arrow also points towards Esser in the photo. Whether or not it is genuine remains to be seen, as the scan is not good enough.
            Max.

Well, after further researching and quizzing down the seller, i determined that the autographs as well as there certificates came from Charles Snyder.
Needless to say I am avoiding the collection.
