    What Uniforms are These?

The RKT shaking hands with the general appears to be wearing a single-breasted dark-blue tunic, but no insignia in sight.

The officer on the right wears only 2 cockades on his visor.

Any ideas as to what organisation they were with?:

The black uniform is possibly DAF (Deutsches Arbeitsfront).

Possibly DAF, but the cap is not cut in the traditional Schiffchen form, and the tunic lacks shoulder straps.

A number of former veteran's who had earned the Knight's Cross in the military were subsequently involved with civil and paramilitary organizations. Please don't imagine that this individual won his RK as (in this case) a labor official.

More served in the labor corps that one may realize before joining up for combat regardless of branch of service...

The DAF should not be confused with the RAD.

Someone noted that the RKT was missing his right ear--that may narrow down who he is.

Also appears to have other awards on his tunic left pocket. Where did this interesting photo originate, or where was it found?

I cannot recall where I found it, but another person advised me that it that the photo is identified as "Gen.August Schmidt congratulates Tanker during the Battle of Stalingrad."

Definitely not a Panzer wrap, & that would rule out DAF.

Is anyone aware of any other photos from this ceremony?
