      Hi Mike,

      You are probably right about them being NSDAP officials. I don't thinl SS would be present at a Heer inspection parade. Here is a closer scan.

                Nice Picture but...

                Hi Tim,

                Great picture of the early Marder with 7.62, but as you can see on the front panel behind the hull machine gun, your vehicle is a member of the 3rd Kompanie of the Das Reich Panzerjaegerabteilung 2, not from the LAH.

                  yo paddywack... i think the man under the helmet is not a tommy..sure looks like an ss man with sleeve chervon and shoulder boards.. apparently a rare example of souvenir taking by the germans...

                    Favourite photos doesn't mean necessarily that they are always clear, crisp and sharp, hmm ?

                    Here is a series which belong to my favourite SS-photos although these are a bit blurry.

                    The burial ceremony of SS-Brigadeführer Herbert Ernst Vahl, died in an accident in Greece, july 22nd 1944.
