Help with photo

Hi,

I was going through one of my albums the other day and found this photo that seemed out of place in the album. I posted it in the "pilot portrait" thread which was probably the wrong place and didn't get a response anyway. My questions are:
Is this Heer officer wearing a flight suit and parachute
Any theories as to why he would be wearing such gear
What is the vehicle in the photo. I haven't been able to find anything like it.

This is indeed a very interest photo. You are correct, this man is wearing a K So/34 summer flight suit and appears to be wearing a parachute. Unfortunately i dont recogise the vehicle.

Artillery spotter?? I know the WH used the Storch and I am not sure if they flew with chutes, but that is my guess. Mike

Hi Larrister, the vehicle on the photo could be a trailer that was used by the Luftwaffe to fill the oxygen into the planes.
