I was fortunate to get about three more days at the US National Archives last week in my perpetual hunt for information on the Luftwaffen-Felddivisionen. In the process of examining microfilm on the 9. and 10. Lw.Felddivision I came across a set of orders from the Kriegstagebuch-Anlagen of the XXVIII. Armeekorps regarding the use of unit insignia on the uniform and placement of unit and tactical symbols on vehicles. I have seen orders like this in the records of other corps commands but had never copied them before. I thought these might be of interest to some of the members of this forum so I have posted them here. My trip was very successful, and I found a lot of incredible information, including some startling details on the deployment of 60 PzKpfw. Panther tanks in service of the 9. and 10. Lw.Felddivision.
The signature on the second page is that of Oberst Herbert Gundelach, the chief of staff of the XXVIII. Armeekorps.
